Natural Core Wool

Jun 7th, 2010 Posted in inspired living - products | no comment »

Etsy is a great place to buy handmade items, it is also a great resource for supplies. I wanted some plain undyed wool to use in the core of projects (such as our felted rattle balls) so I looked to Etsy since I wanted to start with a small amount.

I found just what I wanted from Etsy Seller 8muddyfeet. Wonderfully soft, washed dorset ram wool that was shipped promptly. Just what I have come to expect from Etsy sellers. :)

This should carry us through for a few projects.

Spending Time in the Sunshine

May 19th, 2010 Posted in inspired childhood - at play | no comment »

Summer seems to have come back – early – once again, so we have been conducting many of our daily activities in the sunshine.

Darling Ava is out to play in her adorable sun hat by NanaBrowns! I have several hats for different seasons by Nicole, a sewing mama from Canada whom I found just poking around on Etsy! :) (Shirt is organic cotton, Made in the USA – from Essere Organics – actually a hand-me-down from Sophie’s smaller days.)

Sophie uses the soccer ball like a basketball: there is a hoop on her playhouse. We didn’t show her – she just has a good time doing her own thing!

Snacks are better outside! The favourite baby snack these days is kamut puffs and raisins!

What’s Sophie cooking?

Darling Painting Smock by janseams

May 13th, 2010 Posted in inspired childhood - creative projects/objects | no comment »

I received this today – and am so happy with it –

I wanted to get a painting smock for Sophie for our watercoloring. I had in my mind just the style I would like – and I was delighted to have found this one in the janseams Etsy Shop. She shipped it to me lightening fast and I was so impressed. It is very well made & just what I had in mind!

It’s a girls’ size 5 – but I wanted something larger for Sophie to grow into. Now once Ava catches up to her I will have to order another (and perhaps an extra for any children who come to visit!).
